Mid-century modern homes in West Michigan seem to be quite spread out - we don't have tract neighborhoods like California does. One community that seems to have more mid-century modern home, is East Grand Rapids.
I actually shared a cutie last week too, and the description said "urban". Someone on Facebook mentioned this did NOT look urban to them, but for our area, East Grand Rapids is one of the few walkable neighborhoods, making it urban in our eyes.
Another East Grand Rapids property hit the market recently, and this one at 2032 Coronado Drive, SE East Grand Rapids, MI 49506 is quite incredible. It is listed for $630k.
I LOVE that they included the original drawings of the home, as well as the garden plan. The original features in this one will blow any mid-century enthusiast away. Looks to be original kitchen and bathrooms. The floating staircase might be my favorite feature. The indoor BBQ built into the fireplace, which is quite common in those days, remains.
In true modernist form, the front of this home is very private with few windows, but the back of the house opens up with spans of glass showcasing the patio & backyard. The bedrooms are all exactly the same size, and all four face the backyard - they each have built-ins, and looks to be original as well. The bathrooms looks to be untouched too, and that turquoise one WINS in my book!
